Well I just left Panama after being in the country for 143 days for Canada and went through Tocumen International Airport without a hitch. All they asked was if the Panama Immigration stamp that they were looking at in my Passport was the most current. Then following a brief finger calculation to determine that I had not been in Panama longer than 6 months, they bid me adieu and I went on my mary through security and to my gate without further incident or having to pay any additional fees.
By the way, on the Canadian Government’s – Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada website – Travel report for Panama http://www.voyage.gc.ca/countries_pays/report_rapport-eng.asp?id=233000 they state that “A valid Canadian passport is required for Canadians travelling to Panama. The passport must be valid for at least three months beyond the date of your expected departure from the country. Canadians whose stay will be less than 180 days do not require a visa” this information was update to include this new notice on september 23, 2010. Seem as if it is offical.
So what are you waiting for, come on down to Panama and enjoy this most beautiful country for your next holiday or whatever.
Hope to see you soon.
